Raising self-sufficient and skilled students: The Roop Nagar Story

Roop Nagar Public School was established in 2008 in Jhalawar, Rajasthan, with a vision to raise children who are not just academically successful but have strong characters rooted in self-discipline and integrity. The school had its humble beginnings with about 500 students, in whom they wanted to nurture creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

“Our children increasingly need to be able to develop ideas, solve problems and empathise with others. They also need to have the resilience and adaptability to continue to learn and master new skills. I think indeed these non-academic skills are among the most important skills of all, as they can help to both drive better academic outcomes in school and prepare children to thrive and prosper in the changing world,” said Mr. Pushpendra Agrawal, Director of the school.

Six years ago, Roop Nagar Public School was facing challenges in developing critical thinking among students due to a “lack in curriculum quality”. “Initially it was difficult for our students to do their homework on their own. They needed assistance,” said Principal, Deepshikha Agrawal. She added that they were looking for a curriculum provider which could solve these problems and help the school grow.

Roop Nagar School partnered with XSEED specifically to solve these problems.  “The school chose XSEED after doing its research. We are the ones who understand the philosophy of XSEED and have implemented it to the T. XSEED enabled us to do continuous and comprehensive evaluation of teaching efforts through feedback.” Six years later, the school has 1200+ and has grown by 2 times, beyond the fact that students now complete their homework on their, can write independently and are going strongly on the path of becoming self-reliant critical thinkers and problem solvers every day. The school’s Principal Ms. Deepshikha Agrawal added, “learning in the classroom is now not compromised.”
