XSEED Conducts Courage to Change for School leaders in the Philippines
XSEED Education conducted its annual Courage to Change event in Makati Manila on October 4. The event was attended by 105 school leaders who strive to bring a meaningful change in the way children learn in their schools.
The keynote speaker at the event was Coach Chot Reyes, the Basketball coach of the GILAS, the national basketball team of the Philippines. Coach Reyes talked about what it takes to be a leader and changemaker as he shared his journey of taking GILAS to global basketball glory, making history for a team that was struggling to compete with other countries. Coach Reyes talked to school leaders about winning in the face of overwhelming odds with TEAM thinking – Trust, Effort, Accountability, Motivation – Trusting the team, giving honest effort to the mission, taking Accountability for the team, and maintaining shared Motivation in the system.
School leaders also got a chance to hear Ashish Rajpal, Founder and CEO, XSEED Education talk about his journey of making XSEED what it is today and the strong mission to which all efforts of the team are aligned. He was followed by a session with Nicholas Edwards, Vice President Academics at XSEED Education, who talked about the XSEED method and how a simple change in the teaching methodology could bring a real impact in student learning.
“This is the second year of Courage to Change in the Philippines and it feels really good to have an active presence from the school leader community. Almost everyone I spoke to at the event had a genuine intent for bringing a change and setting a strong foundation for students in their schools. I am glad they got to hear from changemakers and leaders like Coach Reyes and Ashish.” Says, Nishi Jauhar, General Manager, XSEED Education in the Philippines.
